Black Basketball History Month!... Hoopster Of The Week!...Sheryl Swoopes!

 


The 'Hoopster Of The Week'

for this week 

goes to: 

the Big Black Lady who was the first female 

and first Black Woman signed to the 

WNBA when it was first established in 

1996 and she won three straight Olympic 

Women's Basketball Gold Medals, plus she 

led her team, the Houston Comets to four 

straight WNBA Championships from 1997 

to 2000, and of course she was a 3-time 

WNBA MVP,  and a 3-time WNBA 

Defensive Player of the Year, plus her 

'Air Swoopes' made her the first woman 

and Black Lady to have a signature shoe, 

and so much more...

power forward and center in the WNBA and 

she won the championship in 2021 as a 

Chicago Sky team member,  plus she was an 

Unrivaled Championship team member in 

2025, plus she won gold at the FIBA under-19 

World Cup in 2015 in Russia, 

and so much more...

been winning all of her life it seems, 

starting off with the Big East Freshman 

of the Year in college, and ACC Player 

of the Year, then was WNBA Rookie of 

the Year and a WNBA Scoring leader 

in 2023, plus a 6x All-Star Gamer, and 

WNBA Peak Performer, and don't forget 

her International Medals, plus a WNBA 

All-Star MVP in 2023 and a 3x WNBA 

Champion in 2018, 2020, and 2025, 

and so much more...

Black Basketball History Month!... Hoopster Of The Week!...Brittney Griner!

  


The 'Hoopster Of The Week'

for this week 

goes to: 

the Big Black Lady, 6-9, 205, ranked #1 in 

high school, she dunked the most times, 

and blocked the most shots in those games, 

and was selected as the first overall pick 

in the 2013 draft, plus was named one of 

the 100 most influential people in the 

world, a 10x All-Star Gamer, a 

competitor in the Unrivaled League, and 

the only college player with 2,000 points 

and 500 blocked shots, and repeating that 

dominance with being an 8x WNBA 

blocked shot leader, a 2x scoring champion, 

a 5x international Gold-medal team member, 

a 2x Peak Performer, leading in points, 

rebounds, and assists, 

plus a whole bunch more accolades...
