The 'Hoopster Of The Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Guy, 6-2, 205, who was the first
two Black Men to be signed with the NBL,
an early forerunner of the NBA, and he was
a highly-touted All-City and All-conference
competitor, who signed a Pro contract right
out of high school, and after some play, he
transferred to the Harlem Globetrotters and
ended up coaching the team, most notably
though, as a senior, he helped win the City
Finals, then, the next year, he and his team
won the NBL Finals Championship,
and so much more...

Black Basketball History Month was
founded by Ralph Winge, D.D.S.
in 2025 to acknowledge, praise,
and hold high, with cheer, the untold
numbers of International Black Men
and Women, both past and present,
that made us go, "Wow!...Whoa!...
...and...OMGosh!" in their nonstop,
valiant, and always surprising,
individual and team
efforts to put the ball through the
hoop the most, to win games and
championships!
