The 'Hoopster Of The Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Guy, 5-10, 170, who became
the first Black Man to sign an NBA Pro
contract with the Washington Capitols in
1950, and would go on to coach the U S
Men's Olympic team, winning an exhibition
against the Soviet national team, then he
went on to coach at the New Orleans
colleges Dillard, Southern, and Xavier,
and so much more...

...Harold Hunter!
Black Basketball History Month was
founded by Ralph Winge, D.D.S.
in 2025 to acknowledge, praise,
and hold high, with cheer, the untold
numbers of International Black Men
and Women, both past and present,
that made us go, "Wow!...Whoa!...
...and...OMGosh!" in their nonstop,
valiant, and always surprising,
individual and team
efforts to put the ball through the
hoop the most, to win games and
championships!
