The 'Hoopster Of The Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Lady who is the first female
and Big Beautiful Woman to officiate as a
referee a NBA Playoff game in 2006, and the
first to do so for an All-Star game, and since
then, she has officiated hundreds of NBA
(919) and WNBA games, while also being a
2x NCAA Division II Championship team
member at Cal Poly Pomona (in 1985 and
1986), and she established the Violet Palmer
Officiating camp to teach youth on the art
of officiating, plus you know that
she's in the WNBA HOF,
and so much more...
Black Basketball History Month,
celebrated in October every year, was
founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.
in 2025 to acknowledge, praise,
and hold high, with cheer, the untold
numbers of International Black Men
and Women, both past and present,
that made us go, "Wow!...Whoa!...
...and...OMGosh!" in their nonstop,
valiant, and always surprising,
individual and team
efforts to put the ball through the
hoop the most, to win games and
championships!
The Founder of Black Basketball History Month,

If you know a Basketball Practitioner who should be included here,
please leave a note in the comment section. Thank you!
