The 'Hoopster Of The Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Man who made history as the
first Big Black to officiate a NBA game that
happened February 11, 1968 between the
Chicago Bulls and the Cincinnati Royals
playing in Cleveland wearing the #32, and
this happened after players, including Bill
Russell, Will Chamberlain, and Oscar
Robertson pressured the league to do it, so
18 years after the first Big Black Players were
integrating the NBA, the Big Black Refs were
begrudgingly allowed to participate, and he
was already a top ref on the West Coast with
the Pacific-8 Conference, and worked some
NBA pre-season exhibition games,
and so much more...

Black Basketball History Month,
celebrated in October each year, was
founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.
in 2025 to acknowledge, praise,
and hold high, with cheer, the untold
numbers of International Black Men
and Women, both past and present,
that made us go, "Wow!...Whoa!...
...and...OMGosh!" in their nonstop,
valiant, and always surprising,
individual and team
efforts to put the ball through the
hoop the most, to win games and
championships!
